Regular School Day Resumes on Monday, February 17
Welcome Back Students! As announced previously, Monday, February 17 is now a regular school day as we make up days from our first blast of winter weather in January. A plan for making up the three days last week will be forthcoming from UCPS.
Most of the snow is now gone and our campus is in good shape. If you come across any ice or snow on your way into school tomorrow, please be sure to approach with caution. Please allow for extra time in your morning routine tomorrow as we need all students to arrive on time at 7:50. The late bell will ring as usual at 8:00. We will be on a regular schedule, and Monday is a B-day for IB students.
Our final, regular season home basketball games vs. Weddington have been re-scheduled for Monday night. We would love to have a huge crowd to celebrate the end of cabin fever and the final home game for our very own Coach White. Student Council and Spirit Club have called for a White-Out in his honor! Please bring exact change if possible as Monday is still a bank holiday.
Spring Sports Tryouts will begin on Monday, February 17. The mandatory Spring Sports Parent Meeting has been moved to Monday night, February 24, at 6:30 in the auditorium.
Parents and students who plan to apply for the Class of 2016 IB Diploma Programme at Marvin Ridge High School have the option to attend an informational meeting also on Tuesday night at 6:30 in the Media Center. All application information is available on our website; this meeting is for anyone with questions or if you would like further clarification about the process.
Please see the attached flyer regarding this Saturday's Mattress Sale Fundraiser for Marvin Ridge Bands. The one day only sale will take place in our cafeteria from 10am to 5pm.
Due to the impact of our snow days, we will not send a voice message or a Maverick Message newsletter this week. Please see our website for the most up to date information about any changes or general announcements.
