UCEC's National Honor Society Lends a Helping Hand

National Honor Society members, A'ja Crayton and Mikaela Maldonado, display some of the stockings that were given to the Christmas Bureau of Monroe for local families.

The members of National Honor Society of Union County Early College were ready to spread some holiday cheer this Christmas season. Their mission was to bring smiles and Christmas joy to boys and girls whose families needed some assistance making Christmas special for them this year. With the help of the Christmas Bureau of Monroe, NHS members put their plan into action. Thirty stockings were filled for children, ranging from infants to teens, and donated to the Christmas Bureau for delivery. The stockings were stuffed with items such as candy, small toys, coloring books, socks, hair brushes, tooth brushes, etc. The NHS members enjoyed shopping for the children and said the experience of being Santa’s helpers was a lot of fun which allowed them to share the spirit of Christmas with others.
