Warriors give to St. Baldrick's
This year Weddington High staff and students decided to raise money for childhood cancer research. For the first time ever, staff and students collected money for the St. Baldrick’s Foundation.
The St. Baldrick’s Foundation is a volunteer-driven charity committed to funding the most promising research to find cures for childhood cancers and give survivors long, healthy lives. Already this year, the foundation has raised over $4 million.
For one week staff and students collected money during all lunches. To help increase donations six staff members volunteered to participate in the signature St. Baldrick’s head-shaving challenge.
The school raised $1500. During the Pep Rally on February 7th Mr. Williams, Mr. Belcher, Mr. Pulley, Mr. Calandro and Mr. McGee all shaved their heads. Mr. Funderburk shaved his beard.
Thank you to all who donated to such a great cause. Thank you to the six teachers for participating in the head-shaving challenge.
