Mysteries Around the World
4th grade AIG students recently worked on a reading and writing project. We each selected a mystery from history that could have origins anywhere across the globe. We worked on two parts for this project by researching and taking notes to learn more about our topic. Our written reports included non-fiction text features, different reference sources, and evidence to back up our personal theories about the mystery. The second part of the project was to create a visual representation related to our mystery. Included in the created visuals were power point presentations, clay models, drawings, and dioramas. On presenting day, students heard about different mysteries including the Brown Mountain Lights, Stonehenge, the existence of Homer, Atlantis, the Bermuda Triangle, the Lost Colony, and Easter Island. Everyone had a different mystery to share. We discovered that mysteries can be found in many cultures throughout history.
