Fashion Show kicks off Prom Season
To kick off the 2014 Prom season, the Junior class student government officers organized the Prom Fashion Show. Senior boys and girls modeled dresses and tuxedos from a variety of stores in the Charlotte area. The girls modeled dresses from Darlynn’s, Haute Exclusive, and David’s Bridal, and the boys wore tuxedos from Men’s Wearhouse.
The students who modeled thoroughly enjoyed participating in the event. Senior Haley Hawkins said, “Since freshman year, I have attended the Prom Fashion Show. It’s really fun to watch the models show off the dresses and suits, and it’s great recognition for the stores. Though the best part of this year show was being able to be a model. After all, it’s not everyday you strut your stuff on the runway.”
Mr. Hill and Ms. Mitchell gladly hosted the show and entertained the audience with their commentary. There were several creative games and raffles held. The winners of these events received prizes from local businesses, coupons, and two free prom tickets.
All students who purchased their prom tickets on or before March 5 were entered to win an Ipad Air. The drawing was held on the March 7th episode of the Dub Hub. Congratulations to Senior Julia Mann for winning the IPad Air.
