Connecting WDES 2nd graders with Nature
Not all learning takes place within the classroom. Field trips can be a fantastic way for students to expand their knowledge. Weddington 2nd graders visited Charlotte Nature Museum to experience wildlife through live animal exhibits and interactive educational programs.
They explored the life cycle of animals, visited Fort Wild an outdoor play area that encourages imaginative play; observed butterflies grow in the chrysalis house, and strolled through Paw Paw Nature Trail.
Weddington second graders’ trip to Charlotte Nature Museum provided them a greater understanding of animals, their importance and roles to our environment and provided educational value beyond what classroom learning can offer.
