A Victorian holiday
During the month of December, the 7th grade Language Arts team read Charles Dickens' A Christmas Carol, and researched the Victorian Era of London. Using their research, each student created a Victorian character that would have met the notorious Ebenezer Scrooge. The final product was a paper students wrote to reflect evidence of their research. Names, occupations, hobbies and every detail of their character had to be authentic to life in the Victorian Era. On December 19th, students came dressed as their character and gave a presentation to their classmates, teacher and parents. We concluded the celebration with light refreshments and a fun time practicing Victorian etiquette. Many students really shined as they presented with accents, beautiful costumes and well prepared papers.
