Art at the park

Senior Jasmin Cruz holds up two of her prints that were for sale at the NAHS Art Sale.

Parkwood’s National Art Honor Society held its first annual art sale. The sale proceeds benefitted the Very Special Arts Festival, a fine and performing arts festival for special needs children across the county that is held in May each year. Parkwood’s NAHS also sponsors the festival.

The sale brought in over 220 pieces of art from artists all over Union county and artists working at the school itself.  "Not only were sales strong, it was a beautiful show to view," Frank Meier, the NAHS sponsor, commented.

Abby Damico, Parkwood’s photography and ceramics instructor, also noted, "The kids really pulled through to produce an excellent show with quality work. I am very proud of all the students and the hard work they put into their work and the show."

The NAHS sponsored art sale raised $400 this year which will be used for supplies and materials for VSA.
