WHS is alive with "The Sound of Music"

Weddington High School’s Performing Arts Department will be presenting “The Sound of Music” for the first time in seven years.

Show dates and times are April 3rd at 5:30 pm, April 4th at 7:00 pm, and April 5th at 2:00 pm and 7:00. 
Admission is $5. Tickets will be sold at lunch Thursday, April 3 and Friday, April 4 and can also be bought at the door. 

This is the first show that the artistic director, Ms. Maria Moore and WHS’ new  choral director, Ms. Nicole Turski have worked together along with  Ms. Jill Brooks, WHS’ band director. 

The music is performed live by the members of the WHS band and sung by the actors involved in the show. 

The musical takes place in Austria before the start of World War II. The show is about a young woman named Maria who falls in love with a navy captain and must flee Austria before the Nazi regime invades and forces Captain Von Trapp to join the army. 

Don’t miss this opportunity to see a great performance with more than 80 students involved in the cast, crew and pit.
