Kindergarten Job Day
Kindergarten celebrated their unit on community workers with a Kindergarten Job Day where students learned about various jobs in the community.
Groups of students traveled from one community worker to the next where they learned about the jobs of a baker, hairstylist, farmer, police man, firefighter, EMT, dance teacher and Italian ice vendor.
Each professional told the students the tools that they use to get their job done and allowed students and teachers to ask questions.
Before beginning the unit on community workers, students wrote about the job they would like to have as an adult.
After the unit and the Job Day, students wrote again about their job interest.
Many students changed their minds after learning so much about the community workers, the tools they use, and the skills they have!
