All Piedmont OM Teams Place at State with 2 Headed to World Finals

All 3 Piedmont teams had GREAT performances at the North Carolina Odyssey of the Mind State competition on April 5. After placing 1st or 2nd at the Regional competition the bar was raised and all teams rose to the challenge. They each scored well in the long term problem they've been working so hard on for the last few months. All three did well in the style portion of their scoring which covers specific aspects of creativity, design, humor, etc. that the team chooses). The spontaneous problem portion is always hard and you never know how you actually did until AFTER awards. Since it is "spontaneous", team members do not know the problem before going in with judges and for fairness all teams get the same spontaneous problem but are unable to talk about it with anyone until...after awards. Teams have worked hard and also raised spontaneous scores which is great! After taking care of their long term and spontaneous portions of the day team members and families enjoyed the warm day outside talking with each other, playing ball, grilling out and watching other teams from around the state perform. When it came time for the award's ceremony this is how Piedmont fared:

Our Driver's Test team ended up in 1st
The Not-So-Haunted House team placed 3rd
It's How We Rule placed 1st

Absolutely amazing!! All of our OMers have so much to be proud of. It also means that 2 teams will be going on to the World competition in Iowa at the end of May!
