Cavs Learn from Marketing Rep
Did you know that Kellogg’s is 108 years old? Students in Mr. Steve Lyons’ Marketing class recently learned that and other interesting facts from Ms. Donna Adam who is a senior manager in agency retail for Kellogg’s. Ms. Adam reinforced what the students have been learning from a real-world work experience perspective. She spoke to the students about product placement, making profitable sections, managing an executive team, training employees, product sales, and market penetration. She shared that her favorite parts of her job included flexibility, travel, and meeting lots of different people.
“She detailed how to market, sell, and distribute food products, all of which we are studying in marketing,” senior Zach Denson said. “I enjoyed her insight into the sales operations of the Kellogg company.”
Lyons said that Ms. Adam had visited his class before as part of the Union County Education Foundation Biz Ed initiative.
“She was so good I wanted her back!” he said. In addition to the marketing information, Ms. Adam also provided samples.
“The students loved them!” said Lyons. “She brought Rice Krispie treats, Pop-tarts, Pringles, three types of cereal, and puffed rice snacks.”
Sophomore Savannah LeBlanc said, "Her visit related to the selling process and sales which we have been studying in class. I found it particularly interesting that it took Kellogg’s three years to come up with a type of icing for pop-tarts that wouldn’t melt!”
Mr. Lyons and his students would like to thank Ms. Adam for her interesting and informative visit.
