First Graders' Global Fundraising Gives "Seeds of Hope"
The First Graders’ Global fundraising project was to collect money to buy seeds to help farmers raise enough food to feed their families as well as bring in income to pay for medicines or help send a child to school. The students raised $200.67 which is enough for eleven families to receive seeds to raise crops. The World Vision organization will let the students know which country their seeds will be going to.
Riley Armstrong said, “I brought in money so that others could have food.” Jack Greene said, “I brought in money so their plants can grow. So they can eat.”
The First Graders also thought it would be nice to make sure the animals had enough food to eat. Their Environmental project was to help the Carolina Waterfowl organization. They raised a total of $92.00 to donate to the organization. Enzo Mejia said “I gave money soothe birds can have food to eat.”
The First Graders have learned the importance of giving and helping others this year.
