It is end of grade testing time at Shiloh.

Shiloh staff prepares for end of grade testing

Our 3rd , 4th, and 5th grade students will be given the North Carolina Ready End of Grade Assessments.

The assessments will begin with English Language Arts on Thursday, May 22nd. On Friday, May 23rd, students will take the Mathematics Calculator Active and Inactive assessments. Our 5th grade students will take the Science assessments on Thursday, May 29th. The Science assessment will be given on the computer, and by the day of testing our students will have completed the tutorial that explains the toolbar and other features they will need for this test before the assessment.

We feel confident that our students are ready for these tests. Our teachers, teacher assistants, and tutors have worked hard to prepare them for the upcoming assessments. We have tried to assure our students that they are ready, and that now is the time to take a deep breath and show what they know. You can help us make sure your child is prepared the morning of each test by doing the following:

  • Make sure your child eats a healthy breakfast.
  • Make sure that your child sleeps well each night during the testing week.
  • Arrive to school on time each day, as our tests begin in the morning.
  • Encourage your child to do his/her best.

We appreciate your understanding as we move into this next generation of assessments and work toward providing the most accurate information possible concerning student performance on EOG assessments. If you have questions about the upcoming EOG assessments, please contact Mrs. Aldredge, our school Testing Coordinator.

Sincerely,
Mr. Spencer
