PRHS Employability Bowl Team Places Second at SPCC
Students from the OCS program placed second in the Employability Bowl at the 8th Annual Transition Fair held at South Piedmont Community College on May 12, 2014. Students answered a number of questions regarding workplace practices, academic requirements for graduation, science, English, math and general knowledge. The competition is among the OCS students in various schools across the county.
The Transition Fair is annual event organized through a joint effort with UCPS, Vocational Rehabilitation and various organizations in the community. The purpose of the event is to prepare students and parents for opportunities post high school life. Vendors from a number of agencies, schools and employers were present.
Students also had an opportunity to hear Mr. Stuart Allen, a lifelong resident of Union County speak about his experiences with overcoming obstacles in his life. Mr. Allen is a successful artist that is legally blind.
