CATA Helps Get East Elementary School Ready for EOG Testing

CATA student-athletes and NFL players work with students from East Elementary.

Twenty seven student-athletes from all of CATA’s different athletic teams traveled over to East Elementary School in Monroe. The student athletes first helped out by working with the Carolina Panthers NFL Play 60 Team to put on a multitude of football related stations that introduced many students to the Carolina Panthers and the NFL’s Play 60 campaign which promotes sixty minutes of activity for all children, and also gave the students many different healthy living tips.

After the Play 60 events the student’s athletes then helped out with the EOG pep-rally to help get the kids excited and prepared for their upcoming EOG tests. The students led the pep-rally and did many different skits to help promote and rein-force the best test taking strategies that the teachers have been giving their students all year long. Some skits focused on taking their time on the test, eating right leading up to the test, and getting lots of rest before the test.
