Cougar Athletics Roar into Action

Central Academy student athletes have been working out all summer preparing for the upcoming sports seasons. This week they were able to roar into action at tryouts and practices for football, men's soccer, cross country, cheer, and volleyball. We congratulate all student athletes that came out to try out for Cougar Athletics.

Central Academy had a very successful year last year winning the 2013-2014 Wells Fargo Cup for the Rocky River 2A Conference. Four teams won conference championships, one team won a team regional championship. Three teams advanced to the third round of NCHSAA playoffs. 23 individuals advanced to regional competition, with two individuals being crowned regional champions. 12 individuals advanced to state competition, earning two individual state championships. Way to go Cougars!!

Whether you are an athlete, a parent, or a fan - Cougar Athletics has something for you. Athletic Director, Coach Niessner, states "We're very excited about the upcoming fall season! Our teams have been working hard all summer long in preparation and we can't wait to see what happens on the field this fall." CATA fans could not agree more! Get ready for some great competition!!
