New CATA Students Welcomed Aboard by STUCO
Freshman were welcomed aboard CATA by a sea of Student Council "captains" and staff. Current student council officers and members met a few times this summer to plan the ninth grade orientation. Freshman were provided with their schedules that served as a chart that they would explore during their time at the school. New students were greeted by Principal Fisenne, administrators, and guidance counselors as well. The student council provided tours of the building so that students could find their way from class to class, led the freshman in chants, greeted the freshman with "fringies" to get to know each other, provided advice on being successful at CATA, and engaged in fun activities. Older student council students chose the slogan "We can't control the wind, but we can set the sails" to indicate to students that part of being successful is learning to control what you can to reach your goals.
Student Council members will be available on Monday during transitions, in addition to staff, to make sure that all students can find their way to their next destination.
