Welcome Ms. Steed, a Visiting International Teacher!

Ms. Katie Steed has joined the Antioch Faculty as a Second Grade Teacher. She comes to UCPS from England.

We are so lucky to have Ms. Katie Steed here at Antioch! She traveled 4,000 miles from Chelmsford, Essex (just a few miles from London, England) to join our second grade team. After arriving in North Carolina in August, Ms. Steed worked hard to settle into her classroom even before she was moved into her new home!

Ms. Steed is in her fourth year of teaching. She taught second and third grade in England so she feels right at home with her second graders at Antioch. She is coming to us as a part of the VIF (Visiting International Faculty) Program. One of the most challenging parts of her journey has been to learn how to drive on the right side of the road! But she has mastered that skill and is now enjoying life in Union County. Ms. Steed has visited Myrtle Beach, gone to the movies, enjoyed bowling, and experienced many of the restaurants in the area.

What does Ms. Steed love about Antioch? She loves her team, the big classrooms and small class sizes! She stated that the children are confident and are very smart! Ms. Steed is excited about the adventure that lies ahead. She is ready to lead her team in learning more about the UK and to help her kids grow globally!
