A new school year begins

School is back in session for Parkwood Middle School students and teachers! With every new year there comes changes, and the 2014-2015 school year is no different! Parkwood Middle School is welcoming new students and new staff members as they get ready to kick off another year of learning.

Parkwood’s already impressive faculty has grown over 15 staff members this year! They are Natasha Higgins (6th Grade Social Studies), Rebekah Fuerst (6th Grade Science), Erin Martin (6th Grade ELA), Logan Smith (7th Grade ELA), Hailey Nantz (7th Grade ELA), Dana Courtney (7th Grade Math), Allen Pickford (7th Grade Social Studies), Sylvia Wendling (7th Grade Social Studies), Lisa Holler (8th Grade ELA), Miranda Hull (8th Grade ELA), Mark Moore (8th Grade Science), Cynthia Bahtia (Physical Education Teacher), Harlin Pierre-Louis (French), Rob Evans (Teacher Assistant), Kimberly Heverly (Teacher Assistant), and Kelly King (Media Assistant).

Returning and new staff welcomed 6th Graders at open house on Tuesday, August 19th, and 7th and 8th Graders on Wednesday, August 20th. Once again the sounds of parents and teachers talking, lockers slamming, and students reuniting with friends, filled the halls.

PWMS is looking forward to seeing the outcomes of combining the excellent staff at Parkwood Middle School with the outstanding potential of our students. It is sure to be a fun-filled, productive year of learning.
