Sardis Elementary Goes Pink!

Sardis staff members, Blair Austin, Kelley Zorn, Kim Houser and Elizabeth Griffin pose after participating in Susan Komen's Race for the Cure on Saturday, Oct. 4, 2014.

The Saris family is not immune to the reach of breast cancer. Several staff members and/or members of their families have been affected. Numerous fundraisers have been widely publicized recently in the media. One included the Susan Komen Race for the Cure that was held in Charlotte on October 4, 2014. Several Sardis Staff members and their families participated in this 5K event. Another organization, Cindy’s Hope Chest is selling pink bows in an effort to raise money for cancer research. Some of these bows adorn our school campus in honor of several of the staff members who have fought (or are currently fighting) cancer. Finally, Sardis staff members are going to wear pink each Friday during the month of October as a gesture of support for those who face this disease.
