Sean Leddy named Teacher of the Year

 The 2014-2015 Porter Ridge Middle School Teacher of the Year is Mr. Sean Leddy who currently serves as a seventh-grade Social Studies teacher. Mr. Leddy was selected from three finalists, all nominated by their peers. The other finalists were Ashley Buckingham, seventh-grade Language Arts, and Donna Irvin, eighth-grade Science.

After being chosen, Mr. Leddy thanked his family, school staff, and students. “It is truly wonderful to be recognized for my years of service here at Porter Ridge Middle School.” I would like to take this opportunity to thank our wonderful staff, terrific students, and loving family, all of whom had an enormous role in helping me achieve this great honor.”

Currently serving his ninth year at Porter Ridge, Sean Leddy has worked in several capacities including teacher, New Teacher Mentor, and Social-Studies Chairperson. Prior to beginning at Porter Ridge, Mr. Leddy taught and coached middle-school students, for eight years, in New York City and Long Island.

The Porter Ridge Middle School community would like to thank Mr. Leddy, Mrs. Buckingham, and Mrs. Irvin for their dedication to students’ growth and development. When you see these teachers, please make sure to acknowledge and congratulate them for their unwavering commitment to students.
