Mrs. Reese’s 4th grade students demonstrated leadership skills by serving as Boosterthon Buddies for Mrs. Taggio’s and Ms. Gonzales’ Pre-K students. All students in the school participated in the Boosterthon fundraiser on October 17, 2014, and Mrs. Reese’s students were proud to lend a helping hand and some encouragement to their Pre-K buddies as they ran their Fun Run laps to raise money for our school.
The 4th graders and their Pre-K buddies met a few days prior to the Fun Run to get acquainted. Friendships began to form, and the students were excited to see each other when they were paired up on the day of the Boosterthon.
The 4th grade students were surprised by how fast some of the youngest Timberwolves ran! The older students held on tight to their buddies as they ran, cheered them on throughout their Fun Run laps, and made sure that they stopped for several water breaks.
The Boosterthon Team members were appreciative of the 4th graders’ efforts. “Martie McFly” personally thanked Mrs. Reese and her students for their hard work and assistance.
After a short rest break and lunch break, the 4th grade students went on to run their own 35 laps with the 4th and 5th grade classes. Mrs. Reese is proud of their perseverance, compassion, leadership, and proactive attitudes.
The Boosterthon Buddies are looking forward to spending more time together throughout the school year!
