A Sticky Situation at Sardis
There was a sticky situation here at Sardis on Friday, October 17, 2014…Mrs. Benson and Mrs. Zorn were “tied-up” so to speak; however it was all for the good of the school! The Parent Teacher Organization (PTO) sponsored the Stick-it-to-the-Principal event in an effort raise money for the Invest-A-Kid program. Students were able to purchase peices of duct tape that were used to acutally stick the ladies up to the wall. The principals hung suspended (sort of) to the wall throughout the lunch period. Students, teachers, staff members and parents witnessed the whole thing!
“The one day total amount raised for the entire school was $801.49.” PTO President and Physical Education teacher, Claudia Zapka reported. The Stick-it-to-the- Principal incentive was a great boost towards meeting the school’s $7,000 goal. Students will be collecting money throughout the month of October. Fundraising for this event will conclude on Oct. 31.
Students have shown a lot of enthusiasm during the Invest-A-Kid fundraiser, but none more so than during the Stick-it-to-the Principal event. The good news is that there are still a few more exciting incentives for students ahead. Proceeds from the fundraiser will go towards the purchase and installation of a security fence along the perimeter of the playground.
