HOSA participates in Halloween Happenings

Sierra Thomas (in the pink hat) and Brooke Godwin, along with other members of FHHS HOSA manned booths for the Halloween Happenings event in downtown Monroe.

Many members of Forest Hills HOSA (Health Occupations Students of America) spent Saturday, October 18th, volunteering their time as staff members at the Halloween Happenings in downtown Monroe.

This street festival, one of many events sponsored by the City Parks and Recreation Department, hosts members of the community and is aimed at children under 12. HOSA members worked in craft and activity booths, along with students from other area schools, as youngsters and their families moved from booth to booth enjoying the festivities.

Some of the activities included hands-on arts and crafts, as well as a variety of inflatables and carnival games, along with a costume contest, petting zoo and the opportunity to see the inside of both an ambulance and fire truck.

This family-friendly event is offered at no cost to the participants and offers the students an opportunity to give back to the community.
