Knights Visit Cherokee Indian Village

The next stop was the Smoky Mountain Gold and Ruby Mine where students “panned fer gold.” Although no students found gold, several found emeralds, rubies, sapphires, amethysts, topaz, and more.
For dinner students feasted at Harrah’s Cherokee Resort - Chef’s Stage Buffet. The restaurant features chef specialties prepared at interactive stations and offering tastes from around the world.
The final stop of the day was to the annual Cherokee Indian Fair. Over a century old, this festival is a carnival and an agriculture show. With food, music, rides, stickball, and games, this was a final treat after a day loaded with history, science, and art experiences.
