3rd Grade Fall Gathering
The 3rd graders at Indian Trail Elementary School were invited to a Fall Gathering at Mrs. Horne’s farm on Saturday, October 18, 2014. They went on a hayride, made s’mores over a fire, and played on haystacks. Some even dressed in costumes.
On the hayride we saw a donkey, cows, and took a trip through the woods. It was scary when the lights on the tractor went out in the middle of the woods. The tractor took us on a long journey though lots of fields and pastures as well. The donkey was making lots of funny sounds.
All the parents donated items for the s’mores. We roasted marshmallows over the fire and made our own s’mores to eat. They were yummy!
It was very dark and we were all running around with glow sticks being crazy with our friends. We jumped on the haystacks and a couple of us even fell off. There were steps to get on the haystacks made out of straw. The hay bales were set up in the shape of a horseshoe. By the time we were finished, we were covered in hay.
Some kids came dressed in their costumes. There were witches, creepy jester, skeletons, zombies, and vampires. Some cute costumes were cats and princesses. In our opinion, the scariest costume was the creepy jester.
I think the 3rd graders had a great time at Mrs. Horne’s Fall Party. It was a memorable event. I think the 2nd graders are in for a treat next year.
