Indian Trail After School in the Fall of the Moment
Fall is here but the frost is not on the pumpkin! With this knowledge the After School children and their group leaders went to work on brainstorming what they could put on the pumpkin.
Groups 3, 5, & 6 wanted to go with the “fright factor” so they painted with black and added bat wings! Others chose to put in vampire teeth for a mouth and painted their pumpkins very creepy and scaly!
Group 4 went environmental and had a mini lesson on what’s inside a pumpkin. They scooped out the insides, leaving a few seeds, and then filled the pumpkins with dirt topping it off with a Viola. A wonderful table accent and later those pumpkin seeds can grow out of the top!
Groups 1 & 2 cut out facial features of cats and owls from sticky back foam pieces which were then put on the pumpkins. With the addition of the Google eyes, these finished up so cute.
Such fun was had with the 90 small pumpkins welcoming us to Fall.
“Jolly wolly pumpkin face
You're happy tell us why.
I'd rather be a pumpkin face
And not a pumpkin pie!”
