Fairview Chorus Sings at the Charlotte Checkers Game!
On November 8th, the Fairview Chorus, led by music teacher Maegan Coble, was invited to sing at the Charlotte Checkers game against the Texas Stars. In honor of Military Appreciation Night at the arena, our chorus gave a special performance of “God Bless America” from the edge of the ice. This is the second time the chorus has performed at a Checkers game. Last winter, they sang the National Anthem. Jack Costello, a 5th grader who was singing at the Checkers game for the first time said “It was very fun and amazing. As we entered we got to see a behind the scenes look and where the zambonis go and the team lockers. The experience was amazing.” The night was extra special with the return of Tucker Reynolds, a fourth grade chorus member injured in a serious car accident last month. Fairview families filled section 103 of the arena and helped our school earn over $700 from the Checkers! This money will benefit the music art programs at Fairview.
