Porter Ridge High School’s student artwork displayed at CMC-Union

Porter Ridge High School’s Art II and III students' art work is on display at the new Women and Children's Center at Carolinas Medical Center-Union in Monroe. The Union County Community Arts Council and local schools have partnered to provide art for the new Women and Children’s Center.

On Wednesday, November 12, 2014 CMC-Union honored students across the county for their hard work and creativity. The students created art pieces inspired by words of peace and tranquility with whimsical illustrations.

The following students were honored: Cassie Knesovich (Love), Carley Anderson (Love), Chole Thompson (Family), Ashlynne Varieur (Peace), Ellie Thompson (Hope), Kaitlyn Linscheid (Tranquility), Amanda Le (Cherish, Serenity), Sierra Hardy (Cherish, Smile, Love, Laugh, Family), Hannah Hagler (Unity).  

Jan Kerley, the instructor for the Art II & III students, was also recognized for displaying her masterpiece in the hospital. The Women and Children’s Center had a grand opening and open house on Saturday, November 15, 2014, displaying the students' artwork to greet new families!
