RyRES Thanksgiving Feast
Ms. Montgomery and her staff invited parents, guardians and grandparents to Rocky River cafeteria for the annual Thanksgiving Feast on Wednesday, November 19th. It took 2 days, about 8 hours of prep time to ensure they had plenty of food ready. Ms. Montgomery and 6 staff members prepared 7 turkeys, 359 servings of dressing and 470 pork choppers. Extra food had to be ordered ahead of the preparation. There was a great turn out for the turkey and dressing or pork chopper, mashed potatoes, green beans, seven layer salad, blueberry cup and yeast roll.
Lunch was enjoyed by students and their guests during their lunch periods that day. The hallway, gym and cafeteria were filled with many guests. The students were excited to have special guests for the event. In a little over two hours about 1,000 meals were served. Mrs. Richardson was even spotted helping out on the serving line. Younger brothers and sisters loved joining their siblings for lunch. Parents enjoyed the opportunity to join their child/children during the Thanksgiving lunch. A kindergarten parent said “It was really great.” Thank you , Ms. Montgomery and staff for all your work in preparing for this event.
