Kiwanis Club and Marvin Elementary Lending a Helping Hand
Marvin Elementary students donated food items during the week of 11/17. It was a huge success! The student council worked hard to coordinate and count all the food.
Last year students collected a total of 1000 food items, this year we collected 2,227! Wow, that is amazing! The food was picked up before Thanksgiving by six wonderful Kiwanis Club members. They came in and loaded all the food in bins and got it out to the trucks quickly so they could get to the next elementary school. They volunteer their time to help families in Union County.
The Kiwanis Club started this initiative four years ago and have truly helped so many families. They were so thankful to the Marvin community for supporting their efforts with our amazing food drive! Mr. Peck's class collected the most pieces of food in grades 3-5 & Miss Tucker's class won for K-2!
