3rd Grade Community Service Project
This year ITES school has decided to have each grade level complete a community service project. The Third Grade class was so excited to have the very first one of the year! We decided to help the Kiwanis Club of Monroe to assist the Christmas Bureau in collecting food for those in need.
The club was kind enough to provide us with a bag for each student to take home and return with cans of food. Our leadership representatives walked around each class distributing the letters and bags to go home. They were very eager to start this community project, knowing that one grocery bag of food can provide as many as 11 meals.
We decided to stack up the food near the front atrium on tables where everyone could see how much we were collecting for the families in need. The third grade students loved going by every day and watching our tables grow and grow with donations, filling their hearts with joy knowing how many people they would be feeding for the holidays.
We are proud to say that ITES collected around 1500 items of food! This is more than double of what we did in the past. Thank you to all who have donated and helped third grade make a real difference for those in need!
