Shiloh's Spelling Bee

Marcellus Webb (left) – Winner & Maddie Cooke (right) – Runner Up

Shiloh held the annual school-based spelling bee on December 5, 2014. Third, fourth, and fifth graders participated in the event. We enjoyed having the parents in the media center to support their children. The competition was recorded and classes were able to watch on the television and support their classmates.

The students participated in 18 rounds of words before the winner, Marcellus, correctly spelled “cinnamon.” Other challenging words included debilitate, crucial, and flourish. Mrs. Campbell called the words, and Mrs. Guzman and Mrs. Klutz served as judges.

The 2014-15 Shiloh Spelling Bee winner is Marcellus Webb, a fifth grader in Mrs. Barrows’ class. The 2014-15 Shiloh Spelling Bee runner up is Maddie Cooke, a third grader in Mrs. Simons’ class. They will represent Shiloh in the upcoming district spelling bee.
