Fifth grade students learn about the judicial system
The fifth grade students participated in a special presentation from three local lawyers, Jerel Hough from the Union County District Attorney’s office, Rex Marvel a Charlotte Public Defender, and Brooks Jaffa a Charlotte Attorney. Mr. Hough is a former Benton Heights student.
The gentlemen discussed the judicial system and students were entertained with performing a script that involved a court case with Frosty the Snowman and Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer.
Students were asked what they want to be when they get older and what it will take to make it happen. Some of the students said they wanted to be a doctor, hairdresser, and police officer with the focus on the importance of education.
The visit from the lawyers was motivating and the fifth grade students enjoyed their presentation.
