MHS Electrical Trades and Carpentry Classes Visit Lennar Homes
Carpentry and Electrical Trade took a joint field trip on Thursday December 11, 2014 to Lennar Homes Construction sites here in Union County and near South Carolina. The students were introduced to the construction engineers and coordinators that plan, schedule, and build new homes. The trip was very informative, with the construction engineers outlining several phases of construction from excavation to foundation to actual construction of several homes.
The students were able to interact by asking questions and seeing how homes are actually built to what we all see as a new finished home. They talked with workers and engineers and found out information and saw construction that only real life situations could give. The trip was essential to what we, as instructors, have been teaching in our programs. This trip was a valuable teaching tool that brought to life real construction to many of our students.
