Monroe Middle School Thanks Those Who Care

Excited students greeted and served local community members at a breakfast held in the media center at Monroe Middle. The light breakfast was a token of appreciation for helping our students and staff. Dr. Harvey welcomed our guests and shared a few highlights of our ‘Red Ribbon Week’ and ‘Anti-Bullying Month’. Some of the students spoke individually about different events our school participated in and some even told of personal experiences.

Some of our special guests included Dr. Ellis, superintendent of Union County schools, Mayor Bobby Kilgore, Chief Ron Fowler of the Monroe Fire Department, several Monroe police officers, ministers from our local churches, Union County Central Service personnel, Sheila Crunkleton from the American Red Cross and Lisa Bratton from Turning Point.

The staff supplied a feast of home baked goodies from breakfast casseroles to muffins to fruit. There was no shortage of sugar with every type of doughnut imaginable.
We appreciate the continued support of our community. Our hope is to help our community as much as the community has helped all of us. Together we will help our students at Monroe Middle ‘Soar to Success’.
