ROCK Club and Drama Club Spread Cheer at Local Assisted Living Facilities

Piedmont Middle School students from the ROCK (Respecting Ourselves and Others Consistently with Kindness) Club and Drama Club spent the last few weeks making placemats, coasters and holiday cards for residents and patients of Monroe Manor Assisted Living and Brian Center Retirement and Health Center.
On Tuesday, Dec. 16th, students, parents and club sponsors, Kayce Cranford (Drama), Kerri Mosley (ROCK) and Rena McGee-Helms (ROCK), visited both sites to pass out the hand-made items while singing favorite holiday songs. Residents were grateful and happy to receive their cards and also to sing along with the students.
While caroling on the last hall at the Brian Center, students visited with Mr. Gary Chapman (see photo), even singing Happy Birthday to him after learning that his birthday would be the following day. Mr. Chapman’s daughter, Piedmont student Mya Chapman, was excited to see the room full of her classmates when she arrived to visit her father.
