PR PTO is back!
Were you aware that as of August 2014 PRHS finally has a PTO again? Well, PRHS is excited to say that PTO is up and running! Although the group is small and resources are limited, a lot has been accomplished in a short time! Thanks to the PTO there are many new and exciting things happening at PR.
To help make the school more recognizable, a new sign was installed on the front of the school which proudly displays the school's name. PTO President, Holly Prince, approached area business for donations to fund the sign. Carolina Kids Dentistry in Mint Hill, Dee Langley of Keller Williams Realty and Indian Trail Chiropractic each donated $1,00 to pay for the sign.
To thank the teachers and staff for all the great work that they do, a teacher luncheon is held three to four times a year. Carraba's in Matthews provided food for the first luncheon and Casa Rita's in Matthews provided food for the second one. "We really appreciate the PTO feeding us such delicious food. Everyone should join PTO to help our school. I am proud to be a PTO member," teacher Edwina Baucom commented.
A successful t-shirt sale was held to help support school spirit and a fun student/faculty basketball game took place right before the holiday break. The PTO has also been able to offer several $100 mini-grants to teachers in need of supplies for their classrooms.
Founder and PTO President, Holly Prince, said "I am extremely happy with the group's success so far and am excited for what more we can do."
