Application Process Begins for Class of 2017 International Baccalaureate Diploma Program at MRHS
The application process for the Union County Public Schools International Baccalaureate Diploma Program at Marvin Ridge High School begins January 22, 2015. This program is open to all rising juniors in UCPS who meet the criteria for acceptance. Applications can be obtained by accessing the Marvin Ridge High School Website (click here) and downloading the 2017 IB Diploma Program Application.
Applications will also be available through the Marvin Ridge High School Guidance Office. All applications are due by February 20, 2015.
The International Baccalaureate Program is acknowledged around the world for providing a college-level curriculum during the student’s junior and senior years of high school. It is in integrated program of disciplinary study which emphasizes concurrency of learning, academic integrity, internationalism, breadth and depth of study, and education of the whole person. Student completing the IB Diploma Program are highly prepared and sought for post-secondary work in universities throughout the world. The International Baccalaureate Program, Geneva, Switzerland, awards the IB Diploma.
Admission is highly competitive and is based on specific criteria stated in the application and student responses to curriculum prompts that will be given on Saturday, February 28, 2015 from 8:45-11:00 AM in the media center of Marvin Ridge High School. This is a mandatory requirement for acceptance of a candidate’s application.
There will be an informational meeting for prospective candidates who are rising juniors and their parents on Monday, January 26 at 7:00 PM in the media center of Marvin Ridge High School. Attendance at the meeting is strongly encouraged.
