You Be the Chemist Challenge
In early January, students and parents were informed of a learning opportunity called You Be the Chemist Challenge. This challenge is set up similarly to a chemistry bee in which students receive study materials in advance to prepare for the local challenge in early March. Each school participating in the challenge can have up to three students serve as representatives. We were very fortunate to have nineteen students in grades 6th – 8th show an interest in participating in this interactive academic competition. With that being said, Mr. Kerstetter and Mrs. Woolard organized a qualifying exam to support efforts in identifying our top three representatives. On January 23rd, these students were given a twenty-five question assessment, and our top three qualifying students were identified.
We are pleased to announce our top three qualifiers who will represent Marvin Ridge Middle School in our local challenge in early March. Our top qualifiers are:
Gabriella Castro (7th grade)
Sarah Motteler (6th grade)
Siddharth Sivaram (6th grade)
We are very proud of all our participating students and wish our three representatives the best of luck in the upcoming challenge.
