Fourth Graders are Making Connections!
Students in Mrs. Geisinger’s fourth grade class recently put their knowledge of electricity to the test. Students were given a D cell battery, a light bulb and two wires. They were challenged to make the light bulb light up! Students eagerly began to try out their ideas and soon had light! They learned that they had created a complete circuit for the electricity to flow from the source, the D cell battery ,to the receiver, the light bulb.
The students continued to build on their knowledge of complete circuits and made a motor run. They also located conductors and insulators in the classroom and used a switch to create open and closed circuits.
