SPLASH Program New Parents Meeting

A SPLASH Parent Meeting will be held on Monday, March 2nd. at 6PM at WDES to explain the program and its benefits to parents of rising Kindergarten students.

Mrs. Amy Rogers, a  2014-2015 WDES SPLASH parent, shares her view of the program:

" I have to admit, I was a little anxious about allowing my daughter to participate in the SPLASH program, especially with it being the first year at WDES. However, I can honestly say that is has been an incredibly positive experience. My daughter has come home talking about animal habitats, explaining Martin Luther King, Jr.’s life, and reading a variety of books. The fact that she has learned all of this in Spanish is just a bonus! She is taught using the same curriculum as any other kindergartner, but the exposure to another language and different cultures is something that extends beyond a textbook and will be an advantage later in life. It has been a learning experience for my entire family."
