FHHS Swim Team Garners RRC Conference Awards

The Forest Hills Swim Team brought home event medals, all-conference patches, and awards plaques from the Rocky River Conference Swim Meet held January 26, 2015 at Wingate University.

The Yellow Jackets Men's Team finished 3rd with sophomore Drew Tucker taking gold in both the 50 Free with a 23.09 and in the 100 Free, setting a new school record of 50.54. Junior Mike Foley brought home a bronze touching the wall at 2:43 in the 200 Free. Junior Cynthia Sierra also earned bronze in the 200 Free with a 2:51.07.

Both Men’s Relay teams captured a fourth spot in the 200 Medley and the 200 Free. Senior Andrew Ruple led off the Medley Team, followed by Foley, Tucker, and Freshman Christian Cooper touching in with a 2:16.04. Tucker gave the 200 Free team a big lead, with Cooper, sophomore Shymik Bradshaw and Foley stopping the clock at 1:55.89.

Four swimmers received RRC All-Conference honors. Rocky River All Conference swimmers from Forest Hills are: Women’s Team Captain, sophomore Katie Druding, first-year swimmer sophomore Tiffany Huggins, Cynthia Sierra, and Men’s Team Captain Drew Tucker, who was also named RRC Men’s Swimmer of the Year. Yellow Jacket swim coach Mechele Tucker was named RRC Men’s Coach of the Year.

Drew Tucker will continue on to the Regional Meet at MCAC in Charlotte on February 7th and the State meet in Cary on Feb. 13th.
