Watts makes Union County History

Watts was selected as Union County's first ever McDonald's All-American. She is one of 24 ladies selected nationwide.

Stephanie Watts has capped her stellar high school basketball career off with Union County history.

On January 28, 2015, Watts became the first player (boy or girl) in Union County history to be named to the McDonald’s All-American Game.  She will participate in the game on April 1, 2015 at the United Center in Chicago, Illinois.

Stephanie also became the all-time scoring leader in Union County history (boys and girls).  She currently has 2,340 points.  Watts also has three of the four quadruple doubles in North Carolina High School Women’s history.

Along with holding the school record in just about every statistic, Stephanie will end her career with the 2nd most three point shots made in North Carolina history and will finish in the top 10 all-time in scoring.

Stephanie has been a great representative of Weddington High School and we wish her tremendous success as she moves on to the University of North Carolina.  We wish her and all the Lady Warriors good luck in their pursuit of a state championship in March!
