Peace Corps Volunteer
Davis Cox, a former student at Prospect, came to talk to Fourth Grade about what it is like to be in the Peace Corps in Peru.
After graduating from Parkwood High School in 2009 and UNC-Chapel Hill in 2013, Davis decided to join the Peace Corps.
Davis is currently living with a Peruvian family in Pacasmayo where he has been teaching English classes during summer school and teaching Peruvians how to be conscious of their affect on the environment.
As Davis taught the fourth grade students about the Peruvian culture, they were shocked to learn that Peruvians eat guinea pigs, have summer break from December to March, and do not eat lunch at school.
The presentation was an eye-opening experience for the fourth grade students and they could hardly stop asking questions about Peru and Davis’s experience!
