Unison Music Festival
On Saturday, March 7th, 2015, three students from Indian Trail Elementary School went to Cuthbertson High School to participate in the Unison Music Festival. The three students were Montele Burton, Emma Stott, and Lydia Crawford. We had two choir practices before the actual day. One on Thursday, Feb.18, and Thursday, Feb. 26. The songs they sung are Footloose, Big City Swing, Pure Imagination,Ease on Down the Road, and Happy. Happy was a mix of the orff, recorders, and choir. It was really fun. We had to be there at 8:00 in the morning and the show was at 4:00 in the afternoon. In the actual show, the recorders did two songs, than the orff did three. There was one mix of the recorders and the orff. Orff is the drums and xylophones. The choir, while the orff was playing, snuck on stage and got in place. When the curtains opened, the choir was there and they started singing Big City Swing. This song was directed by Mrs. Matatall. The crowd came alive with the music. The next song they did was Pure Imagination. That one was directed by Mrs. McConkey. That song is from the movie Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory. The song after that we did Ease on Down the Road. It was directed by Mrs. Hinds. We had to learn movements to the songs, all the songs. Then, we did Footloose, which was directed by Mr. Weiland. A lot of the parents and grandparents knew that song. The very last song that they did was Happy. Mrs.Hinds directed the choir. Orff was directed by Mr.Wagner. The recorders were directed by Mr.Ryder. It was so fun! Thank you Mrs.Shepperd for that amazing experience!
