Glee Sings to Second!
For so long Union County Early College was known around the educational block as that “smart school.” That school with those crazy young kids who spend five years pursuing their high school diplomas AND traditionally two-year Associate’s Degree at the local community college. But now, UCEC has a little something more to be proud of. This month, the Glee club travelled to Hickory, North Carolina to compete in the William Peace University North Carolina Show Choir Competition.
This was to be the first performance of our Glee club somewhere other than at UCEC, let alone in a competition setting. This detail wouldn’t occur to spectators of the competition after the UCEC Glee club, led by Mr. Gehring, took home SECOND PLACE at the competition! This made for a very proud Mr. Gehring, who responded to their victory saying, “I was psyched! I knew the group had it in them. They were musically ‘on’ that night. I am very proud of what we did!” We’re all proud of you too, Glee Club, and look forward to the May 9th State competition!
