Big Blue Button Session
On Friday, March 13, 2015, UC Virtual teacher Christi Hearne held a synchronous discussion with several members of her Leadership Exploration class. This group was made up of students from Marvin Ridge, Weddington, Cuthbertson, and CATA. Although Ms. Hearne is able to have face-to-face meetings with her online students on a bi-weekly basis, having the students be able to chat with each other in real-time was a special treat. Students often share in asynchronous discussions via Moodle discussion forums but on this day they used the synchronous web conferencing tool know as Big Blue Button. Interestingly enough, the topic was “effective listening and communicating,” and Big Blue Button was the perfect place to address this topic!
