Connecting with community

PRHS SRO Mollison, Lt. Thompson, Supervisor of School Resource Officers and PRMS SRO Humphrey pause for a photo at the March meeting.

On Wednesday, March 4th Porter Ridge High School hosted breakfast for the resource officers of Union County Public Schools. Twice each semester all of the resource officers of UCPS get together for a breakfast meeting. They discuss what goes on and how things work at each school so they have a better idea of what is happening inside and outside of their assigned school. The rules and regulations of UCPS are also discussed.

PR’s Principal Dr. Bashawn Harris believes that it is a great activity for the school to host and commented, "It is very important that law enforcement and school officials work hand and hand in order to ensure the safety and well being of our students, staff, and community."

When asked about the benefits of the breakfast meeting, Porter Ridge High School`s resource officer, Officer Mollison said, "It`s a great partnership between the school, community, and law enforcement, and a tradition that began with the Porter Ridge cluster. It has grown from there and we look forward to it each year."
